Proposed Bylaw Revisions for The Colonial Condominium: Detailed Review and Participation Guide

We are pleased to announce the proposed revisions to The Colonial Condominium's bylaws, an initiative led by our Administrative Council sub-committee - special thanks to Maureen, Bret, Gonzalo, Gary, and Bea for their dedication. These revisions have been thoughtfully crafted and reviewed with legal experts to ensure compliance with Jalisco law.

Understanding the Attached Document:

The document attached here is an unofficial English translation of the bylaws, which served as the working copy for the sub-committee. For clarity in reviewing:

  • Items highlighted in yellow are the proposed new revisions.
  • Existing bylaws proposed for removal are marked with a line through them.

This format is designed to make it easy for you to identify and understand the changes being proposed.

Upcoming Bilingual Version and Guided Call:

A comprehensive, bilingual version of these revisions will be provided at the Extraordinary Assembly, sooner if possible. We will also schedule a call to walk you through the changes, ensuring a clear understanding before the Extraordinary Assembly.

Voting Process During the Extraordinary Assembly

Each bylaw revision will be voted on separately during the Extraordinary Assembly. It's crucial to note that a revision will only be adopted if it receives approval from at least 75% of eligible owners. Should this threshold not be met during the Assembly, an additional voting period of 30 days will be provided. During this time, votes can be collected in writing from owners who did not attend the meeting, offering another opportunity to reach the required approval rate.

Your informed participation is crucial in this process. Your voice and vote are key in shaping the governance and future of our community.

Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming call and the finalization of the revised bylaws.
